Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz to receive more rewards and blessings

The blessings keep on coming for the country's first-ever Olympic gold medalist. Aside from a pledge from Foton to give her a new Transvan, a free lifetime supply of fuel from Phoenix, as well as a wide array of cash incentives, real estate property, and free flights from PAL/Air Asia Philippines, Hidilyn Diaz will also receive another brand new car.

Ayala Foundation Inc., together with AC Motors and Kia Philippines, recently announced that they will be gifting Diaz a brand new, top-of-the-line Kia Stonic as a gift of gratitude.

“For exemplifying extraordinary courage and determination to bring honor to the country, Diaz will be given a Kia Stonic, courtesy of AC Motors and Kia Philippines,” the company said in a statement.

This is not the first time Ayala Corp lent a helping hand to the Olympic gold medalist. Back in 2016, the Bank of The Philippine Islands (BPI) turned over training equipment for the Hidilyn Diaz Weightlifting Gym in Zamboanga. Then in 2018, Ayala Land Inc. turned over a check donation to the members of the Samahang Weightlifters ng Pilipinas.

But what can Diaz expect from her all-new Stonic? For starters, the Stonic packs a 1.4-liter, naturally-aspirated inline-four that makes 100 PS and 132 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a six-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels. Based on our review, the Stonic can easily achieve 18 km/l on the highway, and around 11 km/l in city driving. It can also carry 325 liters worth of cargo in the back and has 185mm of ground clearance for when the going gets tough.

When it comes to amenities, the crossover comes with the following: touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, automatic climate control, LED daytime running lights, engine start/stop button, keyless smart entry, and rear parking sensors. The Stonic also comes with plenty of safety features that include anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and dual airbags.

With two new vehicles and a free lifetime supply of fuel awaiting Diaz, the Olympic gold medalist will have no trouble getting around in her hometown of Zamboanga City, and around the rest of the country. Congratulations once more to Hidilyn Diaz.
