KYB PH presents New SR Special Shock Absorbers
The new shock absorbers offer better handling without sacrificing ride quality

Massiveparts Incorporated, the official distributor of KYB shock absorbers in the Philippines recently released the New SR Special shock absorber that 'combines OE comfort and distinctive dampening.
The unit will be a non-adjustable, gas-type shock absorber that is structured with a single tube shell case. It has a different viscosity level, wherein 50% was increased for compression (bumping stroke) and 80% was added for rebounding (extension stroke) compared to stock shocks. This allows the car to have better handling and grip without having to sacrifice the ride quality that OE shocks had. Furthermore, the new shocks also lessen braking distance, reduces roll or pitch and provides better cornering.

“The KYB NEW SR is for those who would like to upgrade their daily drive. This works well with those who like to do long distance driving (like a sports car) on weekends and yet able to drive around in traffic and uneven roads comfortably on a daily basis,” said Gen Lao, Marketing Manager of Massiveparts Inc.
The New SR Special was developed and made in Japan, where the company also turned to Japanese D1 drift and Super GT racecar driver Nobutero Taniguchi in testing how the shock absorbers perform.
“Car manufacturers usually develop softer suspension based on ordinary drivers preferences. That is the reason why normal cars tend to nose dive when braking hard or roll when cornering. This is why the New SR Special has been designed with improved damping characteristics to reduce rolling and pitching and get better handling and adds, I recommend the New SR for drivers who like a comfortable ride in town who ride with family or want to improve performance without sacrificing comfort,” Taniguchi said.
Presently, the shocks can only be equipped on select Japanese cars, SUVs and CUvs but can also be placed on Ford, Volkswagen and Peugeot automobiles. Below are the available cars that can have the new SR Special.
