Nissan Motor Company Ltd recently revealed the 2017 Versa Note at this year's Los Angeles (LA) Auto Show.

“The enhancements for the new model year give Versa Note a fresh new look, which should help keep the Versa pair in the number one position again in 2017,” said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc.

Starting with the exterior, the 2017 Versa Note now features a modified front end styling. The new front fascia gets the brand's V-motion grill, along with the swept-back halogen headlights. New exterior colors such as, Monarch Orange and Deep Blue Pearl are also now available for the 2017 year model.

In addition, Nissan says that Versa Note S Plus, SV and SL grades receive the sporty rear fascia previously applied only on Versa Note SR.

Other improvements for the 2017 Versa Note include a new wheel designs for the S Plus and SV grades as well as a revamped 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheel design for the SL trim level.

Inside, the 2017 Versa Note includes a number of customer input-driven changes, such as larger cupholders, the addition of a second 12-volt outlet for SV, SR and SL trims and the relocation of the first 12-volt outlet and USB auxiliary port to the front of the center console.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four that puts out 111 PS and 145 Nm of torque. It is then mated to a next-generation Nissan Xtronic transmission, helping achieve up to an EPA-estimated 17 km/l fuel economy. The company says that the advanced Xtronic transmission features a retuned D-step Logic Control, providing more natural acceleration feeling without holding a high rpm constant.

The Versa Note is offered in four models: S Plus, SV, SR and SL. Versa Note SR also offers a number of sporty exterior and interior treatments, including fog lights, rear spoiler, body-color side sills, suede-like seats, Juke-style sport leather wrapped steering wheel, 16-inch sport machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels and outside rearview mirrors with integrated turn signals.

Meanwhile, the top-of-the-range Versa Note SL is equipped with a range of special equipment such as NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, 5.8-inch color touch-screen display, Nissan Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, SiriusXM Traffic, SiriusXM Travel Link, class-exclusive Around View Monitor, heated front seats, heated side view mirrors and 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
