Lamborghini Manila to unveil Gallardo final edition next week

Last Gallardo edition to be sold after a successful 10-year stint

Lamborghini Manila has announced that it will be unveiling the Gallardo Final Edition in their showroom next week. The final iteration ends the 10-year era of Lamborghini’s most successful model built by in Sant’Agata.  The 2013 Gallardo features a new front and rear bumper design with more defined triangle and trapezoidal features, which we suspect will preview what its successor will look like. The changes are more than aesthetic, as the front features larger air intakes; while the rear features larger air outlets for the engine for improved cooling.

The Gallardo LP560-4 will be powered by the same 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 560-horsepower, 540 Newton-meters of torque, and top speed is rated at 325 km/h. The LP560-4 debuted in Paris last year alongside the lighter and more performance inclined LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica, which produces 10 more horsepower from the standard model. The Edizione Tecnica also features a fixed rear wing and a front bumper with even larger air intakes.

It is interesting to note that the LP550-2 rear-wheel drive version of the Gallardo will still be available for the final iteration. The LP550-2 was first introduced as a limited Valentino Balboni edition in 2009 to commemorate retirement of Lamborghini's chief test driver.

"It's been a crazy beautiful ride for the past decade. One we’ve all enjoyed. And now the latest Gallardo is here, the new masterpiece of the collection. Wind in your hair, smile on your face, foot to the floor. Italy personified. Drive it now, or regret it later. The 2013 Gallardo LP560-4. The finishing touch," says the copy on Lamborghini's Gallardo microsite.

The Gallardo LP560-4 will be initially available at the Lamborghini Manila showroom, while the Edizione Tecnica will be available later in the year. The LP550-2 will only be avaiable upon special order.
