Something is brewing over at Sant'Agata Bolognese.
Automobili Lamborghini has just revealed their successor to the Gallardo. The new model is called the Huracán LP 610-4. The new super sports car will slot in under the Aventador as the baby of the Lamborghini lineup.
Like most other Lamborghini cars, the name Huracán was derived from a fighting bull of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed which was known for outstanding courage and strong sense of attack.
Lamborghini says that the new Huracán takes the design of the Gallardo into a new level. With the use of technology and world class craftsmanship designed with sharp edges, monolithic and sculptured volumes with precise surfaces.
Lamborghini hasn’t released the dimensions of the new car yet, but it will weigh 1422 kilograms dry, and have 610 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque from a 5.2 V10. The Huracán achieves this through stratified direct injection, enabling it to make more power than the Gallardo’s V10.
Huracán has a new 7-speed dual clutch transmission called ''Lamborghini Doppia Frizione'' (LDF) and a fully electronically controlled four-wheel drive system. The Huracán also has three driving modes for the driver to choose from: STRADA (street), SPORT and CORSA (race).
Lamborghini claims the Huracan can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 325 km/h.
