If you're thinking of heading up north (or heading down south to Manila) via the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) at around midnight or later this coming Tuesday and Wednesday, we have some bad news for you.
On June 25 and on June 26, the NLEX Corporation will be conducting girder installation for the new Bocaue Bridge Interchange. A 500-meter portion of NLEX-Bocaue will be closed on the aforementioned dates due to the new bridge project by the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH).
From 12:00 AM – 3:00 AM, all northbound lanes near the Bocaue Interchange will be closed to traffic on June 25. On June 26 however, all southbound lanes will be closed to motorists from midnight until 3:00 in the morning.
A counterflow scheme will be implemented near the interchange on both days so as to serve those that will be affected. However, motorists are advised to expect traffic delays still due to the lane closures and girder installation.
With both northbound and southbound directions each only having four lanes, expect several of those lanes near the Bocaue Interchange to be converted into counterflow lanes this coming June 25 and June 26. The NLEX Corporation is hoping for their customers' cooperation as well as their understanding due to the delay and traffic the lane closures will cause by the installation of new girders.
