Concept coupe previews upcoming flagship model
In their previous teaser, Mercedes-Maybach revealed a shadowy side view figure of their forthcoming concept coupe. The new preview reveales more on their latest concept, saying, “The Mystery Machine is nearly 20 feet from bumper to bumper, longer than a Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase saloon (sedan)”.
As its launch inches closer, Mercedes-Benz released the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6's second teaser revealing the vehicle's front view. With its imposing front view, one can expect that the new concept car will have elements of both old and new Maybach models. From the front, its sports a wide chrome grille with the Mercedes-Benz hood ornament on top, vertical slats, and a pair of slim LED headlights. On to its side, the silhouette shows a clearer view that it is a two door with its sweeping roof line. One will also notice cameras are used in place of actual mirrors.
Back in 2004, Maybach also made a full-size two door concept before the brand went on a brief hiatus in 2013. Called the Exelero, it too measured nearly 20 feet long and this latest concept is likely its spiritual successor. Maybach has yet to enter a two door model in production since its modern-day revival in the early 2000's.
As of now, the Mercedes-Maybach sub brand only produces a single model based on the 2016 S600 Sedan. But recently, the German firm hinted that they would further expand their offerings into the SUV Market.
The rest of its features will be revealed on August 21 at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California.
