Leaked: Are you the 2017 Subaru BRZ?

Supposedly updated Subaru BRZ gets minor exterior, interior revisions

Last week, Toyota revealed the updated 86 ahead of its scheduled debut at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. It gets slight exterior and interior updates along with a minor power bump. Its Subaru twin may follow suit after what appears to be images of the 2017 BRZ were recently posted on the web.

If the pictures are to be believed, the supposedly refreshed BRZ gets the similar updates from its Toyota brethren. Up front, it sports the new bumper with wider air intakes and extended canards. The headlights, on the other hand, now get reshaped integrated daytime running lights (DRLs).

Over to its side are new alloy wheels that are again, similar in design with the updated Toyota 86. At the rear, redone combination taillights and a diffuser-integrated rear bumper are present at the back of the alleged 2017 BRZ.

Stepping inside, the cabin appears to have minor revisions as well. It has a new multifunction steering wheel, slightly bigger tachometer and a multi-information display. Moving to the center console, the climate control ditches the gear-type selectors in favor of circular knobs. Also new to the alleged 2017 BRZ is the red contrast stitching that envelopes the coupe's center console, steering wheel, door trim and dashboard.

Like the Toyota 86, the familiar 2.0-liter FA20 Boxer engine is still expected to power the 2017 Subaru BRZ. Exact output figures however are not yet available.
