Last week, Ford released a teaser for the upcoming 2022 Maverick pick-up truck. Set to slot beneath the Ranger, the all-new Maverick will serve as the brand’s new compact pick-up truck.

We already saw a glimpse of Ford’s upcoming model via a leaked photo last January, as well as the teaser photo from last Friday. However, we have yet to see the vehicle in full. Luckily, it looks like an eager photographer was able to snap some photos of what we believe is the real thing.

Posted by Maverick Truck Club (the pictures have since been removed at Ford's request), the images show the all-new compact pick-up in what seems like a photoshoot. Assuming these photos are legit, the front fascia of the Maverick appears to feature Bronco Sport-like look. Apart from the unique C-shaped headlights, the Maverick has a somewhat similar front grille and front bumper design.

As for the rest of the pick-up, the Maverick looks more like a downsized Ranger despite being reportedly based on the front-wheel-drive Bronco Sport’s platform. The doors, wheel arches, LED taillights, and FX4 decals, give the Maverick proper pick-up truck styling.

We also managed to get a peek inside the Maverick’s interior. The grainy, low-resolution photo may not show most of the details, but it looks like the Maverick’s cabin has styling elements from both the Escape and Bronco Sport. There’s a three-spoke steering wheel, a dual-zone automatic climate control, a wide touchscreen infotainment system, and a rotary-style gear selector. Meanwhile, the seats appear to be finished in tan leather.

No powertrain details have yet to be revealed. However, we did mention last week that it could come with either a 1.5- or 2.0-liter EcoBoost powertrains, similar to the Bronco Sport. A hybrid engine will supposedly be available for the 2022 Maverick as well. The hybrid powertrain could come from the all-new Escape that uses a 2.5-liter inline-four paired with electric motors. It has a total system output of 200 PS.

The 2022 Ford Maverick will officially be revealed on June 8, 2021, in the US.
