With the current generation Peugeot 308 approaching its midlife cycle, it is no surprise that Peugeot would be introducing a refreshed version of its sporty hatchback. Before the French marque could release teaser or introduce the facelifted 308, official photos have already been leaked online, showing the really subtle changes that have been made.
Comparing both the leaked facelifted photos and the current 308, one would have to take a closer look to see the difference. The front fascia shows the most noticeable differences mainly by having a revised front bumper which now features bigger side vents along with new fog lights.
The grille has also been altered slightly by having a slightly different shape and an updated mesh. Peugeot’s lion emblem has also been moved to the center of the grille, which now looks similar the grille of the current 308 GTi.
Heading towards the rear, the only difference which can be seen are the taillights wherein the graphics have been changed. Given the low quality image along with the leaked vehicle colored black, the rear bumper could also have undergone some minor changes.
As for the interior, it appears the 308 facelift will not have the new-generation i-Cockpit cabin design from the all-new 3008 and 5008 crossovers. Nevertheless, the 308's interior does receive some slight alterations that differs from the current model.
As the leak only involved photos, no other details have been released regarding the powertrain of the refreshed 308. Given the 308 only got subtle tweaks, it would be no surprise if Peugeot would retain the same engine options available.
The official launch of 2018 308 is said to be scheduled for June. For now, the leaked images give us a first glance of the refreshed 308 and will have to wait till its official launch to see the differences.
