Alleged photos of Hyundai Grand Starex facelift show a sleeker exterior, more car-like cabin
The current-generation Hyundai Grand Starex has been in the country for more than a decade now and while it has a proven track record, it could do with a refresh inside and out. Well it looks like Hyundai has been busy of late as leaked pictures of what appear to be the updated Grand Starex recently surfaced on the web.
According to a report by AutoWeek Netherlands, the purported images appear to show a heavily revised front fascia and a fresher-looking cabin. Beginning with the former, the supposedly updated people carrier gets a sleeker front end that is dominated by a redesigned grill. Also present on the van are the new headlight and foglight designs which give it a more cohesive face.
Other portions of the Grand Starex, on the other hand, appear to have been carried over including the alloy wheels, taillights, tailgate and side mirrors.
If the changes on the exterior look minimal, the inside is a different story. Based on the photo, the people carrier will have a more car-like cabin. Moreover, high-end models will get a more upscale dashboard and instrument panel, along with a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. Like the current model lineup, expect the updated Grand Starex to be available in various seating configurations.
Details about its powertrain remain scarce though it could still come with the 2.5-liter turbo-diesel mill with variable geometry turbo (VGT).
Based on various rumors, it is expected that the updated Grand Starex will be revealed some time in 2018.
