Photos of the latest W463 G-Wagen leaked throughout social media as it was recently spotted in Namibia. The photos reveal the Mercedes-Maybach G650 4x42 Landaulet ahead of its supposed debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
This would supposedly be the final iteration of the W463 G-Wagen before it moves on to the next generation G-Wagen, which has already been spied testing. After more than 40 years of operation, Mercedes-Benz is planning to end production of the current G-Wagen, but not without giving it a fond farewell.
Mercedes-Maybach gives us one last version for the chassis with this G650 4x42 Landaulet. This huge off roader is based off the G500 4x42 body noticeably with the extended carbon fiber wheel arches and interior trim. Along with that, the rear of the SUV has been chopped and fitted with a convertible roof allowing the occupants to experience the elements.
The huge SUV is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 as seen on the badges, same as the one used in the Mercedes-Maybach S650. There is no word yet as to how much power does the G650 produces. To help stop the enormous off roader however, the automaker fitted the G650 with a large set of calipers and rotors.
There has been no official details yet from Mercedes-Benz regarding the Mercedes-Maybach G650 4x42 Landaulet, but expect it to be a limited run, much like its sedan counterpart, and a lot more expensive than its “regular” G65 AMG counterpart.
