Isuzu Philippines teases all-new mu-X
Earlier this year, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) unveiled the all-new D-Max to the country. Redesigned from the ground up, the new-generation pick-up truck gets a sleeker exterior, a more high-tech interior, upgraded turbo-diesel engines, and a slew of smart safety systems.
But when will the next-generation mu-X arrive here in the country? We won't have to wait long as IPC has already announced that it's coming soon. They even posted a teaser image of the all-new SUV, showing the mu-X's redesigned front end. Despite the shadowy image, we can clearly see the vehicle's restyled LED headlights and bolder front grille.
The exact specifications of the PH-spec 2022 mu-X are still a mystery. But thanks to a reliable source, we were able to get a hold of what could be the official prices (tentatively) of the all-new SUV.
According to our source, the 2022 mu-X with the 1.9L turbo-diesel will start at PHP 1.590 million for the 4x2 LS A/T. Meanwhile, the 4x2 LS-A M/T will retail for PHP 1.770 million.
Over to the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel variants, the range will begin with the 3.0L 4x2 LS-A A/T at PHP 1.9 million. Next up is the more intelligent 3.0L 4x2 LS-E A/T which will have a sticker price of PHP 2.1 million. Last but not least is the fully-equipped 3.0L 4x4 LS-E A/T which tops out at PHP 2.450 million.
Those prices may change, but it gives us an idea of the model strategy of Isuzu with the all-new mu-X.
While the 1.9L versions are very attractively priced, the new top-of-the-line LS-E variants are more on the pricey side. The reason behind this is that these variants now come with a suite of intelligent safety systems called 'Advanced Driver Assist System' (ADAS).
These include forward-collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, pedal misapplication mitigation, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, front/rear parking aids, and multi-collision braking.
IPC has yet to announce the all-new mu-X's launch date, but we're keeping our fingers crossed Isuzu will reveal it very soon. Until then, we're keeping our eyes peeled for the possible specifications of the next-generation SUV.
