Lexus Manila, Inc. has just ushered in their new “phase” with the launch of the new GS at an intimate dinner in their showroom at the Ford. The new GS promises better refinement, better style, performance and technology.
“The GS is a bolder, stronger, more confident high performance sedan offering more than just aggressive driving dynamics and aggressive styling,” said Mr. Michinobu Sugata, Toyota Motor Philippines President. “The new GS350 and GS350 F Sport are more about driver control and engagement, while the arrival of the GS450h Hybrid next quarter will complete the full line-up of the GS series.”
In terms of design, the new GS is headlined by the new look of the brand, with the new proud spindle grille, an aggressive but distinguished front bumper, a wide, strong stance. The F Sport model gets an even more aggressive look with larger rims and other sporty touches.
Inside, Lexus engineers and designers went to work on an interior that conveys the best of the Lexus brand, focusing on comfort, style, and functionality. Everything has been updated for the new generation model, and even sports a new interface system for easier integration of the entertainment system and other functions.
Being an entirely new model, the GS rides on a new, more rigid platform and an improved suspension for better handling, as well as active rear steering. Furthermore, the GS 350 F Sport gets the Lexus Dynamic Handling upgrade, adding variable steering, adaptive suspension and other electronic bits.
The new GS 350 is powered by a new 3.5 liter DOHC 24-valve V-6 with 312 horsepower, accelerating the GS to 100 km/h at an estimated 5.7 seconds.
“The GS is the fulfilment of that promise and tonight I will make another one. I promise you, this is just the beginning of more great things for Lexus,” concludes Mr. Sugata.
