Want a sporty and luxurious two-door but find the Lexus LC 500 a bit too pricey and big? Worry not, coupe fans, as Lexus Manila Inc. has quietly launched the refreshed RC 350 for the Philippine market.

First making its world debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show just a few months ago, the updated RC 350 has received a LC-inspired makeover inside and out, along with a comfier interior and improved driving dynamics.

At first glance, it looks as if the 2019 RC 350 still has the same exterior as its predecessor. Upon closer inspection however, we do see that it has indeed received a much-needed facelift. Both the LED headlights and signature spindle front grill have been redesigned to look sharper and more imposing like the LC. It also has a tweaked front bumper, as well as new L-shaped LED daytime running lights.

Around the back, the LED taillights have been restyled and now feature a more prominent L-shaped motif. There are also new corner air ducts on the rear bumper and reshaped exhaust finishers that give the RC 350 a sportier look. Rounding up the exterior changes on the coupe are the new 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/45 tires.

Stepping inside, more styling cues from the LC grand tourer make their way in the RC 350. The leather seats have been redesigned to offer a more comfortable ride while the steering wheel is now smaller for a more ergonomic feel. A new 10.3-inch infotainment system makes its home in the center dashboard and comes standard with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB among others. Also worth mentioning is the redesigned center touchpad for the infotainment system.

Pop the hood and out comes a 3.5-liter DOHC V6 with Dual VVT-i. The engine puts out 312 PS at 6400 rpm along with 380 Nm of torque at 4800 – 4900 rpm. Power is then sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Lexus claims it can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km/h.

Like other Lexus models on offer today, the RC 350 has three drive modes available; Eco, Normal and Sport. Moreover, the RC 350 gets a unique exhaust system which is whisper-quiet at low speeds and delivers a deep growl upon heavy accleration. Finally, it has a stiffer suspension bushings and new shock absorbers that aid in delivering better handling and riding comfort.
