After unveiling the LF-NX concept with the 2.0L turbocharged engine at the recently concluded 43rd Tokyo Motor Show, it seems like Lexus is going full throttle with plans for the LF-NX. Reports say that the production version will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 and that it may be available at the dealerships of major markets by summer of 2014.
The exterior may not be all that different from the concept version. "What we're finding is that these days customers want to be more expressive, so a lot of the concept's inherent design will come out in the finished car. We've seen the finished design, we know what it will look like and it will definitely stand apart. Why would you want something that looked like everything else in the segment? Our customers have always wanted a combination of design and technology, but design has definitely become more important," said Lexus' European director Paul Van der Burgh.
The LF-NX production version may have the hybrid powertrain similar to the IS300h and GS300h (combining a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a total of 220 PS), but it may also have a non-hybrid variant sporting the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that was put on display at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show.
The production version of the LF-NX crossover is expected to arrive in Philippine shores by end of 2014.
