Performance may be a niche market here, but there's no shortage of adrenaline pumping machines in the country today. The latest entry comes from Lexus, and the have just brought in the potent (and updated) RC F in the Philippines.
This isn't just an appearance package either, it's a sharper, more powerful model of the standard RC 350 F Sport. It looks more muscular than the more pedestrian model too, with big, bulging fenders, unique bumpers, and carbon fiber embellishments, which are all new this year. For the update, it also gets a new set of alloy wheels and redesigned headlight and tail light clusters.
While the eight-speed automatic transmission has been carried over, it has a shorter final drive ratio which is said to make it sprint off the line quicker. With 471 PS from its 5.0-liter V8, 0 to 100 km/h is dispatched in just 4.5 seconds. The car can also do 0 to 200 km/h in just 15.6 seconds. Top speed, on the other hand, is rated at 270 km/h. This year, they even added launch control as standard on the high-performance coupe.
While the exterior, suspension, and electronics have been upgraded and uprated, the interior is largely carried over. It has an identical infotainment system with the same track pad to control it. There are new interior combinations, but for the Philippines, it will depend on the vehicle's exterior color. Also, there is no word whether or not the lightened Track Edition will make its way here just yet.
Slated for the 2020 model year, the updated RC F retails for Php 5,928,000.
