Lexus Manila has just launched the 2015 NX during an event last night at their showroom in Bonifacio Global City. Lexus says that the NX is the brand's first entry into the luxury compact crossover segment and features an “emotional design intended to appeal to new customers who lead urban and active lifestyles.”
“The NX was developed as a Premium SUV having high performance, numerous functions, packaged with alluring exterior and interior design, creating a sense of desire for acquisition. The NX was designed to complement daily life while also being capable of supporting an active lifestyle on the weekend,” said Takeaki Kato, chief engineer of the NX.
The 2015 NX took its design cues from the LF-NX concepts introduced at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and Tokyo Motor Show such as the front and rear flares incorporated to the diamond-shaped body. The vehicle is also equipped with LED headlights, daytime running lights, innovative outer mirrors and a door handle mechanism with hidden key barrel and integrated lighting. The rear of the vehicle is fitted with 'L' shape combination lamps, each with LED lights. The 2015 NX sits on 18-inch wheels.
Inside, it has a center silver frame that is embedded into the intrument panel. The seats of the 2015 NX features a quilted pattern and varied pad thickness. Lexus says the interior space played a significant role in the cabin design. With this, the automaker says the 2015 NX has the lowest hip point in the segment.
Lexus offers two engines in the NX: the 2015 Lexus NX 300h with a hybrid 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle-engine that makes 197 PS with 210 Nm of torque at 4200-4400 rpm, and the 2015 Lexus NX 200t iequipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine that produces 238 PS at 4800-5600 rpm with 350 Nm of torque at 1650-4000 rpm.
Lexus is initially offering the 2015 NX 300h at PhP 3,908,000 while the 2015 NX 200t and 200t F-Sport will be available come January. Prices for the turbocharged variants will be announced later on.
