After a sneak-peek of the rear of the Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept some 14 days ago, the Japanese automaker has released a second teaser video ahead of its official reveal at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 15, 2018.
While the backside showed plenty of details already – slim taillights that wrap around both rear fenders and across the hatch, split rear wings with red LEDs around the edges, the glowing blue Lexus badge and most importantly the orange body color – the Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept had yet to reveal one of its best exterior features, the front lighting design.
Lexus, in a short teaser video released yesterday, showcases its brilliance in combining design and lighting to draw emotion and convey a message by capturing the motion of its headlamps in action.
In almost pure black background and started off by the Lexus blue logo, white LED light begins to trace down and across from the top of the trapezoidal headlight before the orange LEDs begin lighting up right at the bottom, from the middle to the edge of the headlight before it drops down to somehow mimic the formation of angel’s wings.
It is both impressive and breathtaking and shows the brand’s ingenuity in taking the lighting design to the next level.
The faint silhouette of the concept reveals a very low roofline, which fuels speculation further that it may not the anticipated successor to the LX but simply a new crossover.
Lexus will be livestreaming the concept’s launch at https://livestream.com/LexusInternational/Detroit2018 on January 15, 2018.
