While most manufacturers have already released teasers or even revealed their whole line up for the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota and Lexus have been tight-lipped about their display apart from the 2020 Tokyo Olympic vehicles. Now, Lexus has finally been the first to reveal one of their upcoming models – a battery-powered electric vehicle.
At the moment, details are very scarce about the Lexus’ concept vehicle apart from a lone teaser image. In fact, it doesn’t even have a name just yet. The only thing Lexus says about it at the moment is that it will be a battery-electric vehicle that features autonomous driving. The luxury automaker also says it offers a glimpse into Lexus’ future vision, which means this could be what the brand’s future EV will look like.
While Lexus did release a short video together with the concept’s announcement, it’s not much help either. The teaser only shows off the concept’s unique headlight design, and that’s about it. Keen-eyed readers will also notice the holographic instrument cluster inside.
With most of us left in the dark, there’s lots of speculation as to what the Lexus EV concept will be. It is possible the concept will be a small city car, but at the same time, it could also be a larger vehicle similar to a sedan. That said, it will likely be using Toyota’s new e-TNGA platform considering it will be an EV.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Lexus has in store for us at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.
