Lexus is getting ready for a very important reveal at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, as the company has confirmed that they will be taking off the wraps on the next generation IS.
Lexus says that all new Lexus IS (which stands for Intelligent Sport) takes its inspiration from the LF-CC concept (as seen in these photos) that was revealed at this year's Paris Motor Show, and will proudly display the new face of Lexus that centers around the spindle grille. Details about the powertrain are still unconfirmed, but some publications speculate that it will be powered by a V6 and/or a turbocharged four cylinder engine.
The IS is one of Lexus's best selling models ever since its introduction in 1998. The original was based off of the Altezza, and featured a rear-wheel drive platform and was marketed to attract successful younger customers to the brand.
When the new model is launched at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, it will be the third generation of the nameplate.
