Kei Miura may have made the first wide-body kit for the Toyota GR Supra with the Pandem/Rocket Bunny kit being released nearly the same time the sportscar was launched last year. However, it was only a matter of time before Wataru Kato of Liberty Walk fame built a wide body kit of his own. Now, we finally have our first look at the LB-Works GR Supra, and it looks even wilder than the Pandem kit.
The Liberty Walk GR Supra widebody kit is comprised of a front diffuser, rear diffuser, wing, side skirts, wide fenders, and canards. There’s also an optional vented hood if you want to add it to the mix. Unlike the Pandem kit, which builds on the Supra’s original lines, Kato has applied a more boxy design to the LB Works kit, especially for the over fenders. This gives the car a more aggressive stance, similar to the old 80s racecar.
Furthermore, the boxy design helps distinguish the LB-Works kit from the from its Pandem/Rocket Bunny counterpart. Interestingly, the design is similar to the new LB-Silhouette Works line of kits which also applies a box-style fender approach.
Aside from the boxy over-fenders, probably the most prominent feature of the Liberty Walk kit is the massive rear wing. Aside from being as wide as the stock Supra fenders, the wing is nearly as tall as the roof of the Supra. We’re not sure if there are any aerodynamic benefits to this (likely none), but it sure helps with the kit’s wild styling. Meanwhile, the rest of the LB-Works kit appears to enhance the GR Supra’s original design with a more prominent front splitter, rear diffuser, and side skirts.
Like most Liberty Walk kits, the LB-Works GR Supra kit is not cheap. The complete kit costs USD 14,850 (Php 741,600) for fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP), and USD 15,950 (Php 796,000) for carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP).
If you want to add the optional vented hood, the price of the kit goes up to USD 17,930 (Php 895,000) and USD 19,030 (Php 950,000) for FRP and CFRP, respectively. Don’t forget that the price does not include shipping or installation just yet. Also, you’re going to need a wide set of wheels and tires in order to fill the widened fenders.
So if you happen to own a GR Supra locally, and want to stand out, why not order a Liberty Walk kit. It will certainly make you the talk of the town.
