2018 Dodge Challenger Demon to be 90kg lighter than the Hellcat
Dodge is not through boosting their muscle cars as the automaker recently released a new teaser for the upcoming Challenger Demon. Set to be the brand's 'ultimate performance halo car', the Demon will be marginally lighter than its Hellcat counterpart.
Exact details about the upcoming halo muscle car were not yet revealed but Dodge did provide a teaser video called 'Reduction'. According to Dodge, they were able to remove 90 kg of weight in the Demon by making adjustments on the wheels, steering, suspension, brakes, cabin and other components.
The engine also remains a mystery but it is highly likely that the Demon will be driven by a modifed Hellcat engine that will generate even more power. As a reminder, the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 found in the Challenger Hellcat produces a staggering 717 PS and 880 Nm of torque.
More details about the upcoming Demon can be found at a new website called ifyouknowyouknow.com. The site contains several clues as to what will be revealed next about Dodge's latest muscle car.
Beyond that, Dodge will be releasing ten more teaser videos as part of the brand's 12 video campaign for the Demon. The first video was called 'Cage' and shows the upcoming muscle car locked inside a cage.
Dodge will be arriving at the 2017 New York International Auto Show with the Challenger Demon in tow.
