It was around 50 years ago when Dodge surprised the muscle car scene with the infamous Charger Daytona. Featuring a wedged nose and a huge rear wing, it was far from subtle and was built for one thing; dominate NASCAR races...and boy it did.

Fast forward to 2019, and Dodge decided that the best way to commemorate its release is to build a limited edition of the Daytona for the modern age. And here it is, the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition.

Painted in an exclusive B5 Blue paint along with rear quarter-matching white decals on the spoiler, this special edition serves as a proper throwback to a legendary muscle car from yesteryear. But for those that prefer a different color for the 50th Anniversary special, Dodge is also offering three different colors: Triple Nickel, White Knuckle, and Pitch Black. Completing the look of the Daytona are 20-inch 'Warp Speed' alloy wheels that have a Satin Carbon finish. Shod around those wheels are sticky Pirelli 305/35/ZR20 tires that grip the road.

Inside, nappa leather and Alcantara suede trim upholster the seats and is complemented by blue contrast stitching. It even gets 'Daytona' embroidered at the back to serve as a reminder to everyone that this is a special edition Charger Hellcat. Other portions of the cabin like the steering wheel, center armrest, door panels, dashboard, and gear shifter also feature the signature blue stitching.

While it may look the Daytona Anniversary special is only an apppearance pack, the Charger Hellcat does ges some neat tweaks under the hood and on the chassis. For starters, the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 now puts out 717 PS instead of just 707.

This was done by increasing the shift point to 6,100 rpm in full automatic mode, resulting in the 10 horsepower increase. Meanwhile, the brakes come with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers that ensure the muscle car can quickly decelerate.
