In celebrating the 35th anniversary of its G-Class SUV, Mercedes-Benz recently unveiled the G-Class Edition 35 that will be available for the G350 BlueTec and G500. Its look has remained the same since 1979 but beyond its familiar silhouette, Mercedes-Benz has always updated it to meet the modern standards of today.

The G-Class Edition 35's front

The 35 Edition will feature an Obsidian Black Metallic finish on its front and rear bumper, wheel arch linings, side mirrors and roof. Designo Mystic White Bright and Palladium Silver Metallic are the available stock colors for the Edition 35. Those that opt for a more subtle look can have the optional Obsidian Black Metallic Finish. Those that want more exterior trim can avail the AMG wheel-arch flaring, the Chrome Package that dresses the radiator grill, trim surround on the seat adjustment panel and loudspeaker panelling in chrome and a sports exhaust system that can be fitted on the G500.

Aboard the Edition 35, two-high grade leather upholstery will be available in either a porcelain/black two-tone finish or a single tone Designo Black. Red stitching contrasts the leather finish and if paired with the Exclusive Package trim, the dashboard is also covered in leather, an AMG Performance steering wheel is fitted, the center console is finished in black piano lacquer and the roofline is covered in Designo Black DINAMICA microfiber. Additional amenities inside the cabin include multi-contour seat and climate control.

Under the hood of the G350 BlueTec is a 3.0-liter diesel V6 that outputs 213 PS with a hefty 540 Nm of torque and is mated to a 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox. For the G500, it is equipped with a 5.0-liter gasoline V8 that outputs 292 PS along with a 456 Nm of torque and is also mated to a 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox.
