Honda UK gives the HR-V new Black Edition trim
The Honda HR-V has been given a sleeker look over in the United Kingdom (UK) after the automaker recently revealed the limited-run Black Edition trim for the crossover.
From its namesake, the HR-V's exterior gets an all-black finish on its body and peripheral components. Parts such as the side stepboards, side mirror caps, front grill, 18-inch alloy wheels and skid plates are all finished in dark black.
As for its interior, Honda said that the HR-V's cabin comes with special edition leather trim and carpets with black accents. Apart from the unique upholstery, the innovative 'Magic Seat' system, soft-touch materials and touchscreen infotainment system have been carried-over for the Black Edition HR-V.
In the UK, the Black Edition will be available with two engine choices, a 1.6-liter i-DTEC turbo-diesel and a 1.5-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine. The former produces 120 PS at 4000 rpm while the latter puts out 130 PS at 6600 rpm. The sole transmission option for the i-DTEC engine is a six-speed manual while the i-VTEC motor can be specified with either a manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT).
“Both the HR-V and CR-V are much loved by customers, and the CR-V Black Edition has gone down extremely well with those looking for something a little more distinctive and individual along with some nice premium touches. We look forward to the new HR-V version hitting forecourts over the next few weeks, and to extending the run of CR-V Black Edition to meet demand," said Dave Hodgetts, Managing Director of Honda UK
There is no word if Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) will release a local version of the Black Edition trim for the HR-V. However, the company did release Black Edition versions of the City and Jazz last November 2016 in limited numbers.
