The 5th car to feature Skyactiv technology and Kodo Design
Mazda Motor Corporation recently revealed a company sketch of the CX-3 crossover which will be fully revealed at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. It will be the brand's latest addition to the crossover lineup after the CX-5 and the CX-9.
The CX-3 will be the fifth car from the Mazda that will make use of the company's proprietary Skyactiv powertrain and Kodo - Soul of Motion Design. Its shape according to Mazda will express 'life within a vehicle - has been evolved to produce a sharper form with an enhanced sense of speed'. From the sketch itself, the front fascia is reminiscent of the CX-5 with its large trapezoid grill and tapered headlights. It is fitted with large wheels and tires on the side and has a muscular rear wheel arch. Mazda did not specify any powerplant specifications.
Also to be revealed will be the facelifted Mazda6, CX-5 and the recently debuted Mazda MX-5 which will be fitted with a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engine for the North American market as confirmed by the Japanese automaker.
