Los Angeles 2015 Preview: Mazda gives a glimpse of the all-new CX-9
Mazda teases new-generation CX-9 with design sketch
The 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show is set to host the global reveal of the next-generation Mazda CX-9, and the automaker just released a design sketch of the upcoming three-row crossover.
Based on the image provided, the new CX-9 crossover now makes use of the company's 'Kodo – Soul of Motion' design theme. The front end now features Mazda's distinct grill design along with the sleek headlights and aggressive bumper design.
The side profile, on the other hand, has a clean design and is accented by flared wheel arches, side skirts and new alloy wheels. The rear section was not revealed, though it appears that the new CX-9 will have wraparound taillights reminiscent of the ones used on the CX-5 and Mazda3.
Engine and interior details however were not specified.
Mazda claimed that the new CX-9 "builds on the feeling of life imbued by Kodo and moves toward a more premium design execution that befits a three-row midsize crossover".
