Lotus appoints Russell Carr as Head of Design

Effective on November 1, 2014

Jean-Marc Gales, Chief Executive Officer of Group Lotus plc has announced the appointment of Russell Carr as the company’s new Head of Design.

Carr replaces Donato Coco who will officially leave Lotus on October 31, 2014. Coco acted as the company’s Head of Design for five years.

"My five years at Lotus have been one of the strongest experiences in my career so far and I will look back with great fondness and affection for this iconic company,” Coco said.

On the other hand, Gales expressed that Carr is “perfectly positioned” to lead the Lotus design team because of his “proven track-record.” According to Gales, Carr has produced “distinctive and compelling designs” for Lotus over the years.

Carr considers it an honor to lead the design team for Lotus. For him, Lotus is keen when it comes to design.

“It is an honor to take on the role of Head of Design for Lotus. Design is extremely important to Lotus as it conveys the pure, competitive and unconventional values of Lotus,” Carr said.

Lotus says the appointment of Russell Carr as Head of Design is effective on November 1, 2014.
