A black Toyota Innova MPV driven by Teodoro Paraiso Llamanzares, 83, a resident of San Juan City, fell off from a steel parking structure of Greenhills Shopping Center at about 9:45 AM this morning.
Llamanzares was reportedly trying to park his vehicle on the third level of the structure fronting Promenade Mall when it rammed through the steel barriers, at speed, according to eyewitnesses who were alerted when they heard a loud crashing sound. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle, at the time of accident.
According to the spot report of the San Juan City Police, “the vehicle then turned upside down after it fell onto the ground nose first.”
Llamanzares was rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center for treatment.
Police also noted that there were no injuries nor casualties reported from the incident. No other vehicles were also damaged. The vehicle has also been removed from the area.
Senator Grace Poe-Llamanzares has confirmed that Dr. Teodoro Llamanzares is her father-in-law, and expressed relief that there were no other injuries and the elder Llamanzares is in stable condition despite suffering from fractured ribs and bruises.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Around four years ago, a 74-year-old drove his Mitsubishi Galant off another parking structure fronting V-Mall in Greenhills Shopping Center when he momentarily lost conciousness and floored the accelerator. The car landed on two vehicles, a Nissan Urvan and Toyota Fortuner.
