The Manila Police District (MPD) has just received 20 new mobile patrol vehicles that will aid in boosting police visibility in the nation's capital.

The 20 new Toyota Vios patrol cars were donated by The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce (FFCCCII) during the flag-raising ceremony led by Mayor Francisco 'Isko' Moreno Domagoso at the Kartilya ng Katipunan.

The Mayor thanked the FFCCCII and stated that with the new patrol vehicles, police visibility will be improved and response time against criminal activities will be faster. Domagoso added that the new mobile patrol cars will help in apprehending suspects as they can be used to block off escape routes, or aid in a pursuit. Moreover, the police precincts will be empowered with the help of the new patrol vehicles.

“These will greatly improve our police visibility. The reaction time will be swift. The vehicles will be deployed strategically in our precincts and stations,” said Domagoso.

Each of the 11 police precincts in the City of Manila will receive one patrol car.

Aside from the new patrol vehicles, Domagoso said that the City of Manila will also be receiving six tactical vehicles from the FFCCCII which will be used by the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

Crime never stops, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. These new patrol vehicles, however, will surely help the MPD keep the peace in the City of Manila.
