Maserati Makes Grand Entry to Philippine Market
Launches Quattroporte S and Granturismo S
Italian luxury car manufacturer, Maserati S.p.A., officially entered the local market with the grand unveiling of two of its most prestigious sports cars - the all new Quattroporte S and Granturismo S at the Rockwell Tent Garden Plaza in Makati City.
Formula Sports Inc. (FSI), the official distributor of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in the Philippines, was recently appointed by Maserati to be the country's exclusive importer and distributor of the ultra high-end brand.
"These are exciting times for luxury cars enthusiasts. The Maserati brand caters to our most discriminating clientele. Now is the best time to aggressively market the Maserati, given that other luxury vehicles have been around for a while and buyers are hungry for an alternative," said Wellington Soong, chairman and president of FSI.
Francesco Fabbiani, director for Business Development of Maserati Asia Pacific, was on hand during the unveiling.
"Maserati prides itself on its long and glorious heritage. We are honored to collaborate with FSI in this endeavor. Their excellent track record in the local automotive industry, competence and dedication makes them our perfect partner," said Fabbiani.
Mr. Fabbiani also shared that the carmaker has invested in special equipment and tooling required to service the luxury sports cars and flew in a technician from Italy to train the local servicemen to ensure quality after-sales service to existing and new customers of Maserati vehicles.
Maserati is looking to expand its Southeast Asian market with the launch of the two new models in the Philippines. The plan to increase the brand's product offering is part of the Italian automaker's new 5-year plan to increase worldwide sales from 2 billion Euros in 2009 to 3.5 billion Euros in 2014.
The Quattroporte S highlights Maserati's high performance luxury sedan segment. Conceived and developed as "a real driving machine in the guise of a luxury sedan", Quattroporte's range makes good use of past experience in terms of suspension and brakes. These represent points of excellence for the model, offering different systems depending on whether the owner is more inclined towards comfort, or favors a more dynamic driving style.
The latest version of the new family of wet-sump power units is fitted in the Maserati GranTurismo S. Recognizable on the outside by the red cylinder head covers, the new 4.7 engine was developed specifically to increase the car's performance and provide the driver of the Maserati Granturismo S with an even more exhilarating driving experience.
"We are confident that we can successfully penetrate our target market. We've been getting rave feedbacks. As a matter of fact, we have already sold most of the units that we have pre-ordered," added Soong.
Pricing starts at Php10.5-Million, all the way up to Php11.8-Million depending on trim and options which can be customized to the buyer's liking.
