There's nothing quite like having a personal touch when buying a brand new car. Whether it's asking for a different colored interior, a bespoke paint job, or a customized equipment list, getting the chance to personalize your car before purchase elevates the ownership experience.

Mazda Philippines is now offering that service for the 2021 MX-5. Called the 'Build Your Personal MX-5' program, a total of 78 possible combinations are available for customers to choose from when they pre-order an MX-5. From their preferred transmission and leather material to the exterior paint and color of the soft-top, customers will be able to make a personalized version of the MX-5 to their liking.

The following items customers can choose to customize include:

- Color: Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Arctic White, Jet Black, and the new Deep Crystal Blue Mica
-Interior trim: Black Leather, Red Nappa Leather, Black Fabric
-Roof: Soft-Top (Choice of Black or Dark Cherry), or Retractable Fastback
-Transmission – 6-speed Manual or Automatic

“Mazda is known for its beautifully designed, superior quality, and meticulously engineered cars. The distinctive and dynamic nature of Mazda Design has influenced us to be more creative in how we present our cars to our customers. That is why we are introducing the Build Your Personal MX-5 Program,” said Steven Tan, president, and CEO of Mazda Philippines.

Those that plan to personalize their MX-5 will have to place a reservation fee at any of Mazda's authorized dealerships in the country. All personalized orders take an average lead time of 4 to 6 months from order to delivery, depending on product allocation, and shipping/logistics timing.

“By giving them the opportunity to personally design and customize their very own MX-5 with our interactive online and showroom ordering guide, our clients will surely feel an even deeper and longer-lasting bond with their cars. This is a privilege previously found only in luxury sports car brands. And now, we make it available to Mazda clients who wish to create an even more personal MX-5 to suit their personality,” added Tan.

As before, the 2021 MX-5 will be powered by a 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G inline-four that makes 184 PS along with 204 Nm of torque. As with all Mazda vehicles sold in the country, the MX-5 comes with a free 5-year service plan. It provides 5 years of free periodic maintenance at either six-month or 10,000-kilometer intervals and is valid for up to 5 years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
