Mercedes-Benz has announced that the company's 2014 sales reached the 2.5 million unit sales mark; 8-percent higher compared to 2013. The company said that they managed to “once again set new records for unit sales, revenue and EBIT (earnings before interest and tax) from the ongoing business.”

Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz boss Dr. Dieter Zetsche said that the 2014 unit sales was the result of the company's hardwork.

“We set new records once again in 2014 – for unit sales, revenue and earnings. This progress is the result of consistent hard work. And it is based on decisions we made several years ago and which we have successfully implemented since then,” Zetsche said.

The 8-percent increase in unit sales were driven by Mercedes-Benz Cars (+10%) and Mercedes-Benz Vans (+9%). With this, the company's revenue was up by 10-percent to €129.9 billion (around PhP 6.5 trillion) as compared to €118.0 billion last 2013 (around PhP 5.9 trillion).

On the other hand, Mercedes-Benz has also announced to “renew almost its entire range of SUVs” in 2015 but the German automaker declined to elaborate more on the said plan. Mercedes did confirm that they will launch four new vehicles that have no predecessor model in the first seven months of 2015.
