Daimler AG CEO Dieter Zetsche said that here is a possible expansion of the compact front-wheel-drive line-up of Mercedes Benz. The second generation is expected to make a debut by 2018.
As of now, Mercedes Benz has four models in the line-up: the A class, which is not available in the US market; the GLA crossover, which should arrive on US soil by September 2014; the CLA, a four-door with coupe styling; and the B class that will be sold in US as an EV next year.
Despite rumors of a roadster and a CLA convertible, Zetsche made no claims on the details of the second-generation models due in 2018. He added that Mercedes Benz will add a fifth model next year but did not comment on reports of a larger CLS station wagon that will be based on the CLA.
