Mercedes-Benz sets the G-Class apart from the rest with Stainless Steel Pack
Tired of the countless Black Edition specials that automakers constantly make? Well it looks like Mercedes-Benz plans to change that by introducing a shiny new example. Say hello to the 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class with Stainless Steel Package.
From its namesake, the iconic 4x4 gets a host of shiny exterior upgrades that makes it stand out from the norm. Compared to the Edition 1 which comes with a pre-dominantly dark theme, the automaker opted to give this a brighter appearance.
For starters, it gets running boards as well as illuminated door sill protectors made from shiny stainless steel. There's also the rear spare tire carrier that is made from the same material and benefits from a 3D star emblem. Finally, the G-Class Stainless Steel Package comes standard with rear bumper protection and side protection strips on the doors.
The new appearance pack is already available in the G63 and will soon be offered in the standard G500. The former is powered by a highly-tuned 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 that produces a healthy 585 PS and 850 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the latter packs a detuned version of the bi-turbo V8 which puts out 422 PS and 610 Nm of torque. Both are connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
The new Stainless Steel trim package joins the optional Night Package and limited Edition 1 trim that gives the 4x4 a more stylish look.
