Apart from the Veloster, Hyundai Philippines also revealed the updated 2016 Santa Fe. First unveiled earlier this year during the Chicago Auto Show, the revamped Santa Fe gets minor tweaks this year inside and out.
The tweaked front fascia gets a new brushed hexagonal grill along with a new headlight design. Also bringing the Santa Fe up to date is a new front bumper with rearranged intake and foglight housings. The rest of the body carries over unchanged from the current model, save for silver accents at the rocker panel on higher-spec models. It also gets new wheel designs for 2016 (pictured here with aftermarket wheels). Completing the exterior updates are the taillights and repositioned exhaust layout.
Like the car's body, the 2016 Santa Fe's interior is carried over from the current model. Power seats for driver and front passenger are available in the top-spec models and so is the touchscreen infotainment system. Base and mid-level models get manual seats trimmed in fabric and a standard, non-touchscreen audio system. Standard in all models are steering wheel mounted audio controls, cruise control and Flex Steering which allows the user to soften or stiffen steering wheel effort.
The engines are carried over as well. The 2016 Santa Fe is powered by a 2.2 liter eVGT turbodiesel. It produces 197 PS and 437 Nm of torque. It can be mated to a six speed manual or six speed automatic transmission. Drivetrain options include front wheel drive for the GLS manual and GLS automatic or all-wheel drive for the top of the line Premium GLS variant.
