With the new Montero Sport and updated Mirage taking center stage during the 2016 Manila International Motor Show, Mitsubishi also quietly unveiled the updated Lancer. This could be the final model before the car is discontinued.

The facelifted Lancer gets a revamped grill and LED daytime running lights and rides on new wheels as well. Inside, the 2016 Lancer has a redesigned center console, updated upholstery as well as a USB port and a new touchscreen infotainment system.

Being a minor model change, the Lancer's engines are carried over from the current model. The top-spec Lancer EX GT-A is powered by a 4B11 2.0 liter engine with 150 PS and 199 Nm of torque. Also available is the Lancer EX GLX with a smaller 1.6 liter engine. The 4A92 mill produces 117 PS and 154 Nm of torque. Manual transmissions are no longer available for the Lancer EX. Instead, the Lancer EX GT-A carries on with a continuously variable transmission while the GLX is mated to a four speed automatic.

Prices for the revamped Lancer EX are as follows:

Mitsubishi Lancer EX GLX 1.6 A/T: Php 848,000

Mitsubishi Lancer EX GT-A 2.0 CVT: Php 1,235,000
