Travel on- or off-road with peace of mind with the Michelin LTX Trail

Michelin Philippines has just revealed the all-new LTX Trail tire for off-road use. Specifically designed for pick-ups and SUVs, the new tire offers an extended lifespan, long-lasting safety with excellent wet braking performance even when worn, and a quieter ride overall.

The Michelin LTX Trail features three major advantages over its competitors. The first is that it offers 41% longer mileage than other tires. This was made possible thanks to the RallyForce 2 Tread Compound, which provides better durability and maximum service life for both on-road and off-road use. It also has a new tread design with a biting shoulder that wraps from the tread down the sidewall. The design serves as protection against sidewall aggression and ensures greater off-road performance and traction.

Second, it has long-lasting safety, even when worn thanks to the Variable Thickness Sipes that provide improved contact patch for better handling, grip, and braking performance. Compared to its premium competitors, the Michelin LTX Trail stops 3.1 meters shorter when new and 4.6 meters shorter when worn on wet roads. On dry roads, it stops 3.8 meters shorter.

Lastly, it emits a 19.8% lower sound pressure level thanks to the Duo-Harmony Blocks that feature two different block shapes in the tread's center that spread the pattern noise energy across a wider spectrum. The result is a quieter and calmer driving experience.

“The new Michelin LTX Trail serves as the perfect fit for consumers, who own a pick-up or SUV and whose lifestyle demands the ability to reach on- and off-road destinations, for work or pleasure. This tire is designed for multi-purpose use, 80% on-road and 20% off-road driving. It gives drivers a safe and comfortable ride on the road, and still being able to take them off the road when needed; and has the ability to handle different types of terrain,” said Daesy Natalya, country lead for the Philippines at Michelin.

The Michlin LTX Trail comes in 15 different sizes and is available for wheels ranging from 15 and 18 inches. For more information, please visit michelin.com.ph.
