Mini has arrived at this year’s SEMA Show with an all-new limited edition model for the US market, along with a special tuning kit straight from John Cooper Works (JCW).
Beginning with the special edition Cooper S Ice Blue Hardtop, it comes with a bespoke blue exterior paint along with streaks of orange accents that can be seen throughout the body. It was first revealed back in 2013 as a limited offering but is now making a comeback with the addition of the brightly colored hue.
Aside from the apparently unique exterior color, the limited-run model also gets blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels and a black-painted roof that can come with a sunroof. In addition, the chrome accents on the headlights and taillights have been replaced with gloss black that gives it a sleeker finish.
It is both available in S (2.0L TwinPower Turbo powertrain with 192 PS and 280 Nm of torque), and in non-S versions (1.5L TwinPower Turbo with 136 PS and 220 Nm of torque).
Meanwhile, the JCW tuning kit for the Clubman and all-new Countryman bumps up the power output of both nameplates in both Cooper S and Cooper S ALL4 variants. From 192 PS, both cars will generate more power at 211 PS while torque figures are bumped from 280 Nm to nearly 300 Nm.
Beyond the ECU update, the kit will also come with a stainless steel exhaust that comes with a Bluetooth-operated exhaust valve system. It has two modes that drivers can switch between; Sport and Sport+. The former is the normal mode for the JCW while the Sport+ gives it a throatier exhaust note that is best suited for the track.
The tailpipes, on the other hand can be specified with either chrome or carbon fiber finishers.
