Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will be previewing their next generation SUV in the form of the Grand Tourer plug-in hybrid electic vehicle (GT-PHEV) concept at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

Mitsubishi claimed that the Grand Tourer Concept is a high-end next-generation SUV as it features a modern look together with the latest connected car technology.

Starting with the exterior, the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept still applies the company's “Dynamic Shield” design along with very slim elongated headlights. It also features a bold character line with door handles placed at the middle creating a scissor-like opening. At the back, it uses a fender-wrapped LED taillights.

On the other hand, its interior features a horizontal dashboard providing larger space and easier sense the vehicle attitude. It also gets an instrumental panel with a high center console, a cockpit-like interior for comfort and security. Lastly, to match its exterior roof color, its interior use Burgundy genuine leather trim.

The next-generation SUV is powered by a triple-motor powertrain along with a full-time four-wheel drive powertrain and MMC's Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC). The PHEV system gets a next-generation drive battery package, three high-output, efficient motors, and an engine specifically designed for it.

The Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept will be the company's centerpiece at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. It will be showcased including a variety of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) and pure electric vehicles (EV) with the theme “Driving Beyond: Another Step Forward with SUVs and Electric Power”.
