MMPC’s January to February total sales volume grew by 33.1% compared to the same period last year. Total CAMPI sales for the 2-month period grew by 24.5%.

Of its first 2-months sales, MMPC have reported growth on all segments such as passenger car models with 36.6%, Fuso truck and bus at 30.8% and light commercial vehicles such as SUVs, pickups, utility vehicles at 31.7%.

Leading the way at the light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales was the Montero Sport. Last month, a total of 1,595 units of Montero Sport (combined previous model and all new Montero Sport) were sold which accounts for 49% of LCV sales and 32.8% of the total units sold by MMPC. CAMPI report also showed that the Montero Sport topped the midsize SUV segment for the month of February making it a consecutive bestseller in its segment since the start of the year.

The all new Montero Sport was launched last January and it was one of the highly anticipated releases in the local auto industry given much praises it received from Thailand market where it first debuted.

Competition in the SUV segments will be fiercer as new models and promotional offers come into play. But MMPC is confident that the new generation Montero Sport will still standout and be regarded as the SUV to beat.

“We are looking forward that the Montero Sport will remain as the best-selling midsize SUV in the market with the outstanding value for money that it offers. We are encouraging those who are purchasing an SUV to test drive the all new Montero Sport at any Mitsubishi dealer and experience for themselves what engineered excitement is all about”, said Froilan Dytianquin, MMPC First Vice President for Sales and Marketing.
