Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and i-Miev hopes to curb emissions and traffic
Mitsubishi Motor Company (MMC) has turned over five units of the Outlander PHEV and i-MiEV units, along with four electric vehicle quick charger units to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) today. The presentation ceremony was held alongside the first ASEAN Electric & Hybrid Vehicles Summit which currently runs from June 29 until the 30th at the World Trade Center.
"The delivery of these vehicles and charger units is a vote of confidence in the electric technologies of Mitsubishi Motors. We are pleased to be playing our part in helping reducing emissions in partnership with the DENR in the Philippines," said Osamu Masuko, CEO of Mitsubishi Motor Company.
Present at the turn over ceremony were representatives from the Philippine government and guests, along with Mitsubishi Motor Company representatives. Following the turnover ceremony, both the i-MiEV and the Outland PHEV will then be used by DENR and other government agencies for their business use.
The deliveries of these electric vehicles were part of the Memorandum of Agreement signed last February between MMC and the DENR regarding a joint study in environmental load reduction using both the Outland PHEV and the i-MiEV.
MMC also supports the plan of DENR, which currently reaches out to other government administrations, universities and electric companies to join the project aimed to curb CO2 emissions and traffic congestion in the country.
