If you're looking to buy a new Mitsubishi or Fuso truck soon, better get one now as Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) recently announced that they will have to increase the price of their vehicles.

According to MMPC, the continuing decline of the Philippine Peso against the US Dollar is affecting importation costs of their vehicles. All models sold by Mitsubishi and Fuso will be affected by the imminent increase price hike.

MMPC added that the price hike may range from 3-percent to 5-percent, which equates to about PhP 10,000 – PhP 20,000.

Currently, MMPC imports the Mirage, Mirage G4, Montero Sport and Strada pickup from Thailand. On the other hand, the Pajero, Lancer, ASX and Fuso truck / bus models are all imported from Japan.

In the future however, MMPC will start producing the Mirage and Mirage G4 locally. The company recently awarded certificates to 25 local suppliers that will build the components for both the hatchback and sedan models.
