Mitsubishi Motors Philippines joins the over 1600 cc bandwagon by introducing it's latest Lancer iteration: the 1.8 liter MX Limited. Underneath the hood of this new variant is the EURO-2 compliant 4G93 engine, which is rated at 123 PS at 6,500 rpm and 161.7 Nm at 4,500 rpm, which is then mated to the seamless INVECS-III CVT transmission with 6-speed Sportronic.
On the outside, one could see the vast improvements made to the Lancer MX limited. New 15" wheels, clear lens, front airdam, and a lip spoiler help convey information that this is the top-spec Lancer.
Inside, the new two-tone interior greets every passenger. The surprisingly roomy cabin space, thanks to the low instrument panel, low waistline, and high roof design, is complemented by redesigned leather upholstery. A dealer-option touch screen head unit that plays DVD's, CD's and MP3's are teamed up with six speakers. NVH figures have been upped as well.
A stiffer body shell, re-tuned suspension, and extensive use of sound and vibration insulators amounts to a smoother, quieter, and stress-free ride. Overall, the space for passengers and cargo, and the ride comfort are deeply satisfying.
>Thoughtful amenities are abundant in the 2005 Lancer MX limited, such as large 2-layer console box, front door pockets, front cup holders, rear center armrest with cup holders, overhead compartment, engine cover, and the Mitsubishi Motors Auto Security keyless entry and alarm system.
Unlike others in the competition, the Lancer still adheres to the tried-and-tested all-wheel independent suspension design, with the sure-footed independent multi-link rear suspension with stabilizer bars as the highlight. Brake performance vows to be outstanding as 15" ventilated front discs and 14" solid discs are the main casts, together with 4-channel, 4-sensors ABS with EBD. Safety appointments include an enhanced body structure with front and rear crushable zones, large side-door impact bar, and dual front Airbags.
Suggested retail price of the 2005 Lancer 1.8 MX Limited is P 898,000.
