Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) has partnered up with GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) to further its commitment in contributing to society's enrichment. Together, the two started a project called “Kapuso Tulay para sa Kaunlaran” in Barangay Iraya in Buhi Camarines Sur. The project aims to replace the bridge severely damaged by a typhoon in Barangay Iraya last year. Residents of the barangay, specifically children, use the bridge as a means of crossing and going to school.

One million Pesos was donated by MMPC for the construction of a steel hanging bridge which will begin soon. The soon to be erected steel bridge will replace the damaged unit, allowing a safe means of crossing for residents of the barangay.

“MMPC believes that this project will greatly benefit our kababayan in Camarines Sur specifically the school children of Barangay Iraya. We hope that thru our simple generosity we will be able to transform and improve the lives of these people. May this project create big impact to the residents and further encourage the children of Brgy. Iraya to pursue their education,” said Mr. Yoshiaki Kato MMPC president and CEO during the donation turnover ceremony.

MMPC also thanked GMAKF for the opportunity to partner with them in this project. GMAKF Founder and Ambassador Mel C. Tiangco in response expressed the foundation’s heartfelt appreciation for the donation and assured that the donation will certainly help those who deserve it.
