One of the longest-running auto brands in the Philippines has just sold its 1-million vehicle in the country. After operating for over half a century, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) has achieved another sales milestone in the country. The vehicle that made this achievement a reality is a Mirage Hatchback.
“Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has been selling top quality vehicles to the Filipino people for more than five decades. This unprecedented record withstood the test of time which brought us to where we are today,” said Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, MMPC president and CEO.
The company first achieved the 500,000 sales milestone back in 2008. It was only after 11 years that they were able to make the 1 millionth unit milestone in the country. With that in mind, MMPC is hopeful that by improving sales and production output, they can achieve the projected 2 million sales mark in 10 or 11 years.
“I believe we can achieve another one million sales by improving our sales and production. That way, we estimate that we can hit the 2 million units in just over a decade,” added Oshikiri.
During the celebration, MMPC also saluted the government's continued support for the growth of the automotive industry, particularly the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). In addition, the company congratulated, as well as gave thanks to the local suppliers that have continued to supply MMPC the parts and components they need to produce cars for the country.
As MMPC surpassed its millionth unit sales, the company is eagerly looking forward to bringing new and exciting vehicles designed to meet the needs of the Filipino people.
