It took some time, but the refreshed Mirage G4 sedan will be making its debut later this month.
Following its regional debut in Thailand, Mitsubishi will launch the updated B-segment sedan in the Philippines. But what can we expect from the refreshed Mirage G4 once the covers are off? Thankfully, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has released a few teaser images and a short video.
Based on these photos, it’ll likely adopt the brand's Dynamic Shield design language, making the Mirage G4 look sportier than before. Expect to see sleeker headlights, a new front bumper, and a more prominent grille.
If it features the design changes of the Thailand-spec units, then the 2022 Mirage G4’s rear end will also be updated. The changes include new LED taillights, larger reflectors, and a re-tweaked bumper. Rounding up the exterior updates are new alloy wheels.
As far as the interior is concerned, it looks like it will be carried over from the current model. These include the three-pod gauge cluster, three-spoke steering wheel, door panels, and circular aircon vents. Features that could be available on the PH-spec Mirage G4 include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, automatic climate control, and media controls on the steering wheel.
Powertrain specifications for the upcoming sedan remain a mystery. However, a quick look at the Thailand-spec Mirage G4, and we get an idea of what we'll be getting. Under the hood, the 1.2-liter three-cylinder MIVEC engine has been carried over and continues to make 78 PS with 100 Nm of torque. A choice between a five-speed manual gearbox and a CVT will likely be available for the Mirage G4.
The refreshed 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is set to debut on August 28, 2021. You can catch it live-streamed on the official Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Facebook and YouTube pages.
