Within just a barely a month from its introduction, combined sales of Strada 3.2 4x4 and the Strada 2.5 4x2 totalled 271 units. This enabled Mitsubishi Motors to lead the total pick up segment capturing 36.8% share of the total 736 pick-ups sold in August. This is based on the combined reports provided by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA).

"We are very pleased that the Strada is now the overall No.1 pick up in the market today. The strong market acceptance can be attributed mainly to its modern styling, advanced engine and drive train technology, and outstanding value for money. We are also looking forward to the upward trend in our sales, especially with the good acceptance of the Strada plus our other new exciting models such as the Pajero, Outlander and Fuzion." said Froilan Dytianquin, AVP for Marketing Services of MMPC.

August year to date sales of total pick ups grew by 44% compared to the same period last year. The total performance of the pick ups was primarily boosted by sales of 4x4 which grew by 77%, having sold 2,473 this year versus 1,400 units same period last year. The new Strada 4x4 pick up mostly contributed to this growth as sales of this model grew from 261 last year to 1,372 this year or 462%. August year to date market share of the Strada in the 4x4 pick up category is 55.5%.
