2022 Mitsubishi Xpander Passion Red Edition revealed for Thai market

Mitsubishi is celebrating its 60th anniversary in Thailand in a big way. To give back to its customers, they are currently offering special promos and giving away prizes worth over THB 60 million (about PHP 91.6 million) in total.

Apart from that, the automaker also released a special edition of the Xpander. Called Passion Red, the MPV gets a unique paint finish along with several exterior and interior upgrades.

Despite being dubbed as Passion Red edition, this Xpander's special paint is called Spirit Red. It may have a different name, but the red hue does give the MPV a more eye-catching look. Aside from the paint, it has decorative badges on the side that highlight Mitsubishi's 60-year presence in Thailand and 15-inch alloy wheels with a red stripe décor for added flair.

The interior of the Xpander Passion Red Edition also received special attention. The front seat headrests get an embossed 60th-anniversary logo, while special door sill plates remind occupants they are in something special. As an added extra, Mitsubishi also installed a wireless phone charger. Owners will also receive a special leather key case that celebrates the brand's 60 years in Thailand.

Like the standard Xpander, the Passion Red Edition is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder MIVEC engine. It makes 105 PS with 141 Nm and is exclusively paired to a four-speed automatic gearbox.

The special edition Mitsubishi Xpander is now available in The Land of Smiles with a suggested retail price of THB 870,000 (or about PHP 1,330,955). As a way to give back to the country, Mitsubishi will donate THB 2,000 (about PHP 3,060) to three charity organizations.

Since the Xpander Passion Red Edition is meant to celebrate the brand's 60th anniversary in Thailand, it's likely to be exclusive to the Land of Smiles. But what if Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) releases its own anniversary edition? Perhaps then they could take advantage of that.
